The Role:

At Repurpose Inc. finances are the fuel that keeps our company moving. We’re looking for a qualified Accounting Clerk to provide support to our Senior Accountant. You will be responsible for managing the company’s A/R and A/P, ensuring that all records are inputted into the system prior to the month-end close, as well as ensuring that entries have been entered completely and without error.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Generate invoices, statements and collections notices to customers

• Perform account & inventory reconciliations

• Submit & track disputes to customers for unauthorized deductions, short-payments, and freight discount errors

• Collect and join all invoices and bills to customer paystubs

• Input vendor bills & credit memos 

• Make inventory adjustments based on spoils and warehouse reports

• Manage consignment inventory and sales within Quickbooks and Excel

• Distribute monthly reports for broker commissions

• Ad hoc sales reporting

• Maintain shipping records for sales and use tax record-keeping

• Assist in the closing of books each month and record adjusting entries

• Keep meticulous digital and paper records

• Work with Sales Department to resolve systemic customer issues that affect A/R & A/P

Who you are:

• Passionate about our mission to reduce single-use plastics in our environment

• Demonstrates knowledge of technical and operational accounting

• Adaptable. Both a team player and an independent worker

• Results-oriented self-starter who shows initiative and is a natural problem solver

• Self-starter with extreme attention to detail, excellent follow-through, and a willingness to learn

• Well-organized and be able to multi-task and meet deadlines

• Skilled in QuickBooks and Excel

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree 

• 2 years of accounting experience

• Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel

• Vendor and customer reconciliations experience

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Bonus points for experience in:

• EDI

• Bill.com & Expensify

• Working at a CPG Manufacturer

• Working at a major retailer or distributor

• Inventory functions in QuickBooks Desktop Manufacturing & Wholesale Edition
